Year old GE C39-8, 8555, is departing Bluefield yard for points east. Two additional loaded coal trains are awaiting their turn. Bluefield was a busy place back in 1985. Not so much nowadays.
An empty hopper train approaches the icicle draped tunnel at Harper, Virginia, immediately north of Big Stone Gap.
